The Case study template

The Case study template is the framework's structured way to communicate impact — for supervision, commissioning, public communications or media.

It uses the & eleven-section structure:

  1. Background
  2. Approach
  3. Needs identified jointly
  4. Support offer and goals
  5. Challenges
  6. Opportunities
  7. What happened after
  8. Outcome
  9. Assets and services connected
  10. Quotes
  11. Conclusion.

Use it for…

  • Supervision — bringing a real, anonymised case to discuss in depth. Use the case study to support reflection.
  • Action Learning Sets / group supervision — a structured way to share a case for peer learning.
  • Commissioner reports — paired with quantitative data (, caseload statistics) to evidence the impact of the service.
  • External communications — leaflets, websites, social media, presentations. With explicit written consent.
